Do you beliaprileve it is April already?   So many changes are about to take place. Everyone starts spring cleaning and preparing for gardens, weddings and outdoor fun. I love seeing people clean up their yards in preparation for bursting colors with plants and flowers. Even inside our offices, we are giving the reception and store area a fabulous facelift. I didn’t even have to use the NuFace or LED Light Therapy Machines to do it! (My attempt at a joke) Chad has been creating wall menus, painting, adding permanent shelves as well as a TV to display our pictures, which offesr you something to view if you have to wait. Stop in and visit our new menus and check out our new look!

The Reasons for So Many Bathroom Trips

Some of you complain that you are always running to the bathroom to “pee”. I want to share why this happens and it involves the one area you don’t want me to talk about, Your Diet. We eat lots of carbohydrates, which is the most powerful stimulator of insulin. Your liver has a limited storage for storing glucose from carbs as glycogen that is used to replenish blood sugar levels. This reserve can get used up rapidly in a 24 hour time period. Without an adequate reserve your body is unable to effectively break down fats and that leaves behind “ketones”.   These can be used by the brain in a pinch, but they are not the preferred energy source. Your body consistently tries to get rid of these ketone bodies and I will give you one guess how it does it? If you guessed through urination, you are correct! When you go often not only are you eliminating excess, undesired “ketones,” you are losing precious electrolytes causing fatigue and possibly low blood pressure. If you do not keep a decent balance in your body, it will start to break down your own precious muscle proteins to make more glucose. Without adequate supplies of glucose, you can also become very irritable and unable to think straight. So you end up fatigued, irritable, more muscle weakness and having to “pee” all the time. So, to cut down the number of trips you will need to cut down the amount of carbs and sugars you consume. And that is one reason why you “pee” all the time!

Chad has opened the lower level store for all your Family Organic Gardening Needs. I am excited to have cooking herbs all year round with the ideas he has to offer. I did not know it could be so easy to do! He is open Tuesday thru Fri from 11 to 5 and Saturdays, 11 to 4.   I can’t wait to start gardens on my upper deck! Come on in and check it out! Maybe Chad can get your veggies and flowers to grow the way you would like to see them. Be the yard in the neighborhood with the most spectacular blooms this summer season!
