Digestive Enzyme Manufacturers Put Themselves Ahead Of The Consumer
By: Marge Pickering-Picone
Many are unaware that over the last 30 years vitamin manufacturers have drastically altered the components of digestive enzyme supplements. During the 1980’s and 1990’s there were a variety of digestive enzyme products to choose from, which include the probiotics to support healthy digestion. Unfortunately, nutritional practitioners were the only ones promoting these intricate enzymes, which resulted in low sales for supplement manufacturers. In an attempt to increase sales and revenue, manufacturers started dissecting apart these effective enzymes to sell its components separately. This sparked the dilemma and confusion over what supplements people should be taking.
In my opinion, this enzymatic supplement separation was only for the benefit of the producer not the consumer. The end product was less effective and not nearly as beneficial as the original products my customers had been utilizing. This change came at the expense of the consumer as they became upset about having to pay twice as much. While I still wholeheartedly believe in enzymes and probiotics, I am selective about what digestive enzyme supplements can actually assist in the improvement of lower gastrointestinal track aliments quick enough to satisfy the customers. The concerns of our customers is always our main priority.
My research has taken me in various directions to provide education and assistance to those suffering from immediate, as well as long-term, chronic digestive conditions.
Here are some prevalent conditions many face daily and my supplemental recommendations:
· Acid Reflux– Reflux Away or Esophageal Guardian. *It is important to determine why this issue is happening, but in the meanwhile both of these products will help control acid reflux symptoms.
· Bloating– Bloat-X. *Again, this issue needs to be addressed, but this product can be used to find relief right away.
· IBS, Crohn’s, Celiac, Diarrhea and/or Constipation– Flor-Assist. Flor-Assist supports healthy bacteria and helps reduce aches, pains as well as other ailment symptoms. This supplement is one of my favorites as it is a capsule within a capsule, which allows the “good stuff” to open in the lower GI track where it is desperately needed.
The digestive enzymes I recommend are based on a person’s dietary intake. Some are plant based digestive supplements while others offer digestive support for meat eaters. Depending on your diet I suggest: Ultra-Actizyme, Enhanced Super Digestive Enzymes & Super Digestaway.
