It’s New Years so every body vows to start Feeling Better and Losing Weight. Weight Loss Programs are jamming the Market Place. The Radio, TV, Newspaper and Magazines are all boasting the best weight loss program around. I believe they all have something to offer and help many that are capable of sticking to their programs. So, What is the Issue? and Why do people fail?
What is the Issue?
The biggest issues can be noticed by pointing the finger at the reflection in the mirror. Check out the dark circles and bags under your eyes. Look how far your belly sticks out or hangs over your belt? Notice how dull your hair & skin looks. When you do look in the mirror are your eyes looking back asking you when are you going to be happy with yourself? Taking care of yourself and feeling better is more than losing weight. If you have a lot of stress in your work, home life and/or relationship, you will have to address that first. If you are tired, have trouble getting a good nights sleep it is time to straighten out your wellness. When watching TV is more appealing than going out with friends, it’s time to do some self care. If the reflection is always reminding you that you have tried many times and failed, it’s time for help of the right kind.
Why do People Fail?
They fail because they think if “I lose weight, I’ll feel better”. The real answer is you have to “Feel Better to Lose the Weight.” If you think about that statement, you know it’s true. You will exercise or diet for a few weeks and then you go out with friends or have a wedding or birthday to attend. What goes through your mind? “Well, I’ve been good and I deserve a treat or a drink” Once you start, you will find a reason just about everyday to postpone your good intentions or just give up and wait for a better time to pursue your wellness goal. I don’t think most of us thought we would get any older or start having health issues similar to our parents and grandparents. If you give up, you will ultimately end up on medications to compensate for your deficiencies.
What to Do
I start Coaching from a repair view. I like to get individuals feel good before I let them start the weight loss program. I want success for them as much as they do. The years spent in stressful situations not paying attention to what we ate or drank catches up. We’ve spent more time driving, cleaning and caring for our children & then our parents that all of a sudden we are out of energy to take care of ourselves. We think we have lots of time but we go to the doctor to only find out that we need to do something right now. Our time of procrastination is up. It’s either get your act together and be diligent or go on medications. I don’t know if you listen to the commercials that go on and on about the side effects but I can sure tell you that I don’t want any part of them. That is why I took the years to learn what the right supplements can do for you. I will use them as long as possible before giving in. I feel like every person I coach solidifies it just a little more each time that we need to be just as important in our lives as we make others.
Issues to be addressed:
Fatigue – that slope in the afternoon, tired after you eat, tired of being tired feeling.
Stress – which causes sinus infections, upper stomach pain, low back problems & sugar lows as well as mood, grouchy reactive responses towards others.
Sleep – unable to shut off your mind talk to sleep, patience, tolerance, fears & phobias
Digestion – Upper over full feeling, lower bloat, gas & flatulence, constipation, IBS, Inflammation, Crohn’s, Celiac. & more.
Mood – heavy hearted feeling, unhappy, cry easily, uninterested in even fun things, depression
These all have an effect on Weight Loss and they definitely have a lot to do with feeling good. If you keep ignoring these areas of your life, you will most definitely carry around pounds that you don’t want and your body doesn’t need.
