July is here and I love summer! It feels so good to get up, walk out the door and stretch when the sun is shining. I love the smell of that warm, clean air. I know it has rained a lot recently, but look how green and lush your surroundings are? This month I have reminders for you and a Red Hot Special!

First reminder is to wear your sunscreen. I am hearing too many stories about dermatology having to remove questionable skin cells from unprotected facial skin. Pretend I am the “Momma” telling you to wear sunscreen even on cloudy days.  It is for your own good! You can purchase suncreen through our online store by clicking here.

Second reminder is to drink water.  I accompanied a friend to the emergency room and while I was waiting I was astounded to see the number of patients being admitted to the hospital due to the repercussions of dehydration. OMG! Shortness of breath, chest pains, loss of consciousness, and strokes can all result from electrolyte deficiency.  Please use FullSizeRender-1your Alfalfa or better yet use our new TBR Hydration where you just add drops to your water bottles.  It works better than our Old Favorite KM! TBR Hydration has no flavor so you can put it in your water and forget about it. Check it out all of our TBR products on protbr.com

Third reminder is to watch alcohol consumption especially on hot, humid days.   That goes along with keeping yourself well hydrated withanti alcohol poster “water”.   We have Life Extension’s Anti-Alcohol Antioxidants that really works to protect your body before and after drinking. Can you imagine no hangover- especially if you have to go to work or deal with young children the next day?!  It is definitely worth it!

Fourth reminder is to eat healthy. It is summer and you can make wonderful fresh fruit and veggie dishes.  The farm markets are open, so there are no excuses. Whip up a salad, get one of the $5.00 chickens from Costco (I love Costco and so happy they are here now) and go to the park for a picnic. Great bonding time and you get to enjoy the fresh air and a possible sunset.

Fifth reminder is just to tell you what an awesome Massage Christina provides at a low cost: $50.00 for an entire hour or $75.00 for 100 minutes.  I have already had 3!  They are fantastic! Treat yourself, you won’t be sorry! Relaxation at its best! Call her directly to set up your appointment: 585-545-5245

Our office gets put back together this month. I am so excited! It has been torn up so long, but don’t worry- I did not forget how to do your favorite facial. Look for the special coming up the week we are back and running.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE…. our Red Hot Special, July 13th through July 17th, is

$10.00 off ALL $100.00+ product orders!!

Every product is included (even TBR)!

I will make it a RED HOT EXTRAVAGANZA with FREE Shipping with orders over $50!

For those looking for Saturday appointments, I am sorry that I reduced availability as it is Wedding Season.  I have the honor of officiating weddings and sometimes I even preside over two in a day.  If you want a Saturday, call and I will try to accommodate you in the morning.

Come and join the Webster Village for Tuesday night movies in the park (right behind our office). Friday nights bring your chairs and your coolers to listen to different bands every week (the same spot).  Mark your calendars: Village Days is August 15.

Be Happy, Be Safe, Be Smart, but most of all, Enjoy your summer!  ~Marge

The ugly truth about toxins in toxins out

Our skin is the largest organ of the body, and the fact is, much of what we place on our skin is absorbed into our bloodstream. While a few chemicals are too large to enter our bloodstream, many are small enough to penetrate. The EWG Environmental Workers Group studied the cord blood of infants and found over 400 chemicals, 217 neurotoxins, and 208 that damage growth and development along with causing birth defects.

The FDA leaves a huge hole for regulations, because it does not consider personal care products a food or a drug. Most people assume cosmetics and personal care products are tested for safety before being stocked on store shelves. In truth, personal care products are one of the least regulated industries in the U.S. On April 20, 2015, Senators Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Susan Collins, R-Maine, introduced the Personal Care Products Safety Act of 2015. Strong provisions in the bill would advance the FDA’s ability to protect Americans’ health by improving current law in the following areas: – See more at: http://www.safecosmetics.org/get-the-facts/regulations/us-laws/#sthash.xfH2rVeR.dpuf which leaves huge safety concern for the public. http://www.safecosmetics.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Personal-Care-Products-Safety-Act-SB-1014-factsheet.pdf

Food and Drug Administration has banned 10 chemicals from cosmetics in the U.S., compared to 1372 banned in Europe. Europe has banned ingredients from personal care products, for proven links to being Carcinogens, Neurotoxins, Reproductive toxins, and Hormone disruptors just to name a few. “The FDA agency does not test or approve products before they go to market and cannot recall products, leaving safety in the hands of manufacturers.” Companies don’t even have to list a full discloser of ingredients in products. There are more than 12,500 chemicals used in cosmetics, according to researchers.

Different products mean different levels of exposure and concern. But even very low doses of EDC’s can be endocrine disruptors effecting metabolism, reproduction and risk of disease. For instance, if you use a lotion all over your body and it soaks into your skin all day, you’re getting a lot more exposure to those chemicals than if you were to use the same ingredients in a face cleanser that is quickly washed off. You still can get benefits or harm from cleaner exposure but in lower amounts.

What I place on my clients skin is my personal responsibility. I use and offer Apriori Beauty products that are made in the U.S.A., but are EU European approved and a compact signer for the campaign for safe cosmetics. Each product focuses on Nutrigenomics – the molecular relationship between nutrition and the response of genes to create internal + external approach to cellular health. The Nutrient Reservoir TM delivers and wraps each cell with a patent-pending combination of ingredients that nourish and protect from the outside in with Celloxylin, and the inside out with Lifeoxylin.
